A Swedish doctor named Per Henrik Ling developed Swedish massage in the 1700’s. The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.
It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses. Swedish Relaxation Massage can be combined with other deep tissue and relaxation modalities, creating a customized session.
The session last between 30 minutes to 2 hours* Relaxing and invigorating, a Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, and ease muscle tension.
*a longer session usually combines other techniques

Seated massage was performed during the late 10th century and early 20th century, for corrective therapies, and later used as an adaptive method of massage for army patients during the First World War. In the 1980’s David Palmer, director of the Amma Institute of Massage in San Francisco, developed a revolutionary chair design and routine that we know of as Chair massage today.
A chair massage is ideal introduction to massage, a quick de-stress in a busy schedule, and a way to maintain health in a cost-effective way. The focus is on the clients’ scalp, neck, arms, and upper, mid, and lower back.
The session lasts 15 minutes the chair massage is done with the client fully clothed. No oils or lubricants are required. The session includes relaxation massage and deeper work to focus on those “trouble spots”.
